Question 1

How long will it take for my carpets to dry after cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Drying time depends on the cleaning method, humidity, airflow, carpet density, and how much soil was present. Hot-water extraction typically takes 5–7 hours, while low-moisture cleaning typically takes 1–3 hours. Fiber, airflow, humidity, conditions, and treatment level can change drying time.

Question 2

Will the products used be safe for my family and pets?

Accepted Answer

We select cleaning products and methods based on the carpet, fabric, and condition, then rinse thoroughly to minimize residue. If anyone in the home has sensitivities, tell us before the appointment and we'll go over the products we plan to use.

Question 3

Can all types of stains be removed from my carpets?

Accepted Answer

Not every stain can be fully removed. Dyes, bleach marks, prior damage, older pet contamination, and some set-in stains may be permanent. We inspect the area first, discuss realistic expectations, and recommend specialty treatment only when it makes sense.

Question 4

What is the difference between professional carpet cleaning and renting a machine?

Accepted Answer

Rental machines can help with light surface cleaning, but they can also leave carpet too wet if used incorrectly. Tufts does not perform mold remediation. Professional cleaning gives you stronger extraction, material-appropriate methods, and a clear plan to reduce the risk of over-wetting or damage.

Question 5

How much does carpet cleaning cost?

Accepted Answer

Pricing depends on the full wall-to-wall footprint of each room, carpet condition, cleaning level, and approved specialty treatment. Tier minimums are $150 for Maintenance Carpet Cleaning, $200 for Deep, and $250 for Restoration. The online estimate gives a starting point for your job.

Question 6

What time of year is best for carpet cleaning?

Accepted Answer

There is no single best season. Many homes clean before guests arrive, after muddy weather, during move-in or move-out, or when traffic lanes and odors become noticeable. Most homes benefit from professional cleaning every 6–12 months depending on use, pets, and soil.
